The Australian media welcomed Cassie Jaye to Australia with
two monumental failed interviews which brought nothing but shame and ridicule
to our media as a whole. As previously reported here, Cassie Jaye was a guest speaker
in Australia to present a special screening of her documentary The Red Pill at
the International Conference on Men’s Issues at the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Naturally whilst in Australia, she appeared on two
television programs to promote and discuss her films, however both shows had
the specific motive of shutting down any interest in the film and its credibility,
and were mostly unprofessional and rude towards the international guest.
It all began on Thursday when Cassie appeared on The Project
, a left-leaning half-baked current affairs program. The interview was pre-recorded and it came to light not long after it was aired, that there was a great deal of editing involved which Producer of The Red Pill, Nena Jaye reported totally misrepresented Cassie Jaye's responses. Host Waleed Aly spoke condescendingly to Cassie after she stated that the Rosie Batty case of Domestic Violence was interesting as it was evidence that there are male victims in DV, given that her son was killed by his father. To which Aly replied "that's the lesson you took from this?" The other host Carrie Bickmore belittled Cassie Jaye's understanding about Domestic Violence stating that "its really on the agenda here" implying that Australians are more educated than her and hence reject the claims made in The Red Pill. But in Australia, it is only the female narrative that's on the agenda and it seems Bickmore was keen to keep it that way. There is an online petition currently circulating on Change.org which requests The Project to show the interview in full. If you would like to sign, click the link PETITION - The Project
Then we regressed to the Weekend Sunrise show on Sunday June 11, when hosts Andrew O'Keefe and Monique Wright, trashed her point of view in the film yet admitted they hadn't actually seen the film when asked on air by Cassie Jaye. They claimed at first they were never sent the film, then they claimed the links they received didn't work and when Cassie Jaye began to explain that its also available for purchase on Googleplay they talked over the top of her, emphatically claiming that no no, no, nothing worked. All of which were lies and Cassie published evidence of this as did a number of bloggers and YouTube users. The internet backlash has been severe towards the Sunrise program and both the hosts especially O'Keefe, who was constantly referred to as a 'mangina'.
I was personally outraged by the blatant lies and the overall desire to squash men's issues into the ground, and it prompted me to start my own petition which I would love your support and signature on. PETITION - Sunrise Apology I have also seen a petition from the amazing people at Anti-Feminism Australia demanding that Andrew O'Keefe be sacked for his unprofessional behaviour on air. PETITION - Fire Andrew O'Keefe
Hats Off again to Cassie Jaye for showing integrity, professionalism and grace under fire.
